Habitat: found in acid seeps in forests in Pope Co.; swale borders in Lake Co.; invades ditches and roadsides; in muck deposits of seep springs in moderate to dense shade

ILPIN Notes: Does not transplant well. rootstocks rather slender, not tuberous; one developed leaf Four populations are known. Also in Cass, Jo Daviess, Kankakee and Will countie
