Species Status
Status/Listing: Misidentified Notes:The historic or current presence of this species in IL is questionble. According to Ebinger et al. 2010, "Panicum stipitatum, stalked panicum)[Panicum agrostoides var. elongatum; Panicum rigidulum var. elongatum] A common grass taxon of the piedmont and mountain regions of the eastern United tates, ohlenbrock (2002a) listed this species for Johnson County [1964 Mohlenbrock (SIU)]. According to Bowles et al. (1991), this specimen is immature and cannot be positively ascribed to P. stipitatum. Unless better material is available, we feel this taxon should not be considered a native element of the llinois flora." Origin: Native
