Ecology & Natural History
Habitat: Species is distributed in waste, gravelly open ground, upland prairies, meadows, rocky slopes, roads, and railroads. ILPIN Notes: Species is extending its range northward in Illinois. Fresh flowers are yellow, drying to blue. Species has bluish- gray green leaves with prominent white midrib, appearing striped and ornamental.
