Habitat: Species is distributed in rocky open woods. ILPIN Notes: Haddock, R. C., and S. J. Chaplin. 1982. Pollination and seed production in two phenologically divergent prairie legumes (Baptisia leucophaea and B. leucantha). American Midland Naturalist 108: 175-186. may be part of B. bracteata glabrescens persistent foliaceous bracts; pubescent stems and leaves Species has persistent foliaceous bracts; glabrous stems and leaves.
