Habitat: Open sands, beaches, and blowouts. ILPIN Notes: Flowers sessile or on very short bracteate pedicels. Plants somewhat shrubby. Skog and Nickerson (1972) treat this taxa as a subspecies of Hudsonia ericoides L. Brizicky, G. K. 1964. The genera of Cistaceae in the southeastern United States.
