Ecology & Natural History
Habitat: Alluvial ground along streams, sloughs and ponds, often in flood plains, wastes in towns, along railroads. Also, in drier, weedier ground. ILPIN Notes: Muenscher, W.C. 1975. Poisonous Plants of the United States. Young shoots in spring cooked as tasty greens. Possible dangerous levels of oxalates and nitrates.
