Lawrence, KA. 165 pp. Section Agrostoidea - Species is distinguished by: 1) compressed culms; 2) spikelets mostly arranged on one side of the axis of the inflorescence (second) and by its shiny spikelets. This variety in particular has branched spreading-ascending and shorter (1.8-2.2 mm) spikelets. Species is occasional in southern 1/3 of state; uncommon in central 1/3; rare in northern 1/3.
