Habitat: Species is distributed on waste ground.

ILPIN Notes: Species may not be an economic weed in our area; (may become a weed in wheat fields). Species looks like Manisuris or Tripsacum female inflorescences; Mohlenbrock (ref. 8) says "one of the strangest appearing grasses in the state. Fruits nearly fused with raceme axis."
