Ecology & Natural History

Habitat: Species is distributed on waste ground and roadsides.

ILPIN Notes: This is a popular lawngrass; it does well in full sun if properly watered, fertilized, mowed, and disease is controlled; is especiallly good for cool, moist climates. Species is tufted. Species escaped from lawns in the northern U.S. and is scattered in some of the northern counties.
