Ecology & Natural History
Habitat: Species appears after fires - especially in woods around edges of old campfires; calcareous meadows; disturbed sandy fields; lawns; along highways. ILPIN Notes: This is including var. confertiflorum Fern. Regarding weediness, species may be economic or non-weedy. Each carpel is elongated into a beak, later dehiscent.
